Proof of Stake (PoS) is a consensus mechanism used in blockchain networks to validate and confirm transactions.
In a Proof of Stake system, validators (participants who create new blocks and confirm transactions) are chosen to create blocks and validate transactions based on the amount of coins they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral.
The higher the stake, the higher the chance of being selected to validate transactions and add a new block to the blockchain, thus receiving rewards for it.
